Recycle Shoes | Raise Money for MKPNE

Guidelines for ShoesMKPNE is in need of a new Laptop computer.

This computer will be used at community and outreach events
for instant online access to our events calendar, online registration, profiles, iGroup information, membership, and any NWTA information.

Imagine New Brothers being able to claim their membership at Homecoming or non-initiated members being able to join MKPUSA on the spot at outreach events. Seeing how most things are done online, lets make it more accessable!

The goal is $1,000.00

How? Shoes.
2,000 Pounds of shoes.

At the Annual gathering we raised $144.00 from 288 lbs of shoes!

Our own Michael Aronson lives his mission by providing shoes to micro businesses in Africa through recycling shoes. We provide useable shoes. No boots, no rips, no holes, and no exhausted shoes. He pays MKPNE $0.50/lb when we deliver them. He sends them to Africa!

It never ends! We can do this for as long as we want. Those lonely shoes piling up in the back of your closet have a new purpose. Give them to MKP, we’ll turn them into cash to buy a computer, and they will travel on Safari to West Africa and find new use on someone else’s feet.

How it works!

  1. Collect all your gently used shoes, pair them up, bag them up.
  2. Get together with your IGroup and consolidate all the shoes you’ve collected!
  3. Have one or more men in your IGroup bring your shoes to an MKPNE Event (like a Homecoming, a PIT Training, an NWTA).
  4. A Man (or men) from the Council will get the shoes to Holyoke MA to be weighed up and added to MKPNE’s running total!
  5. MKPNE raises money. ReRun ships shoes. Microbusiness in Africa grows. Men, women and children get new shoes!

After we get the laptop, we will check that off the wish list and work toward the next wish!

This is another great step toward long term sustainability!
